Active carbon is a fine-grain carbon with a large/porous inner surface which has the ability to enrich large quantities of molecules of other substances on this surface. Active carbon is often used as an adsorption agent to remove pollutants when cleaning exhaust air / gases or natural gas. Primarily, active carbon is used in a granulate form, as a powder or as pellets.
The objective of the treatment of active carbon in the DELA rotary drum distillation is the extensive removal of pollutants.
One significant advantage of active carbon is its thermal reactivity properties which allows our customers to reuse the cleaned adsorption agents in their processes.
Examples of active carbon:
- Filter material from treating exhaust air
- Carbon from decomposers
- Active carbon from the production of chlorine
